Meanwhile...
[Beneath a tree in one of the Dressing Room's many parks, a Rin lies, apparently sleeping. Perfectly normal, right? Well-- except for the fact she's in a hospital gown.
And those choking noises she's making as she struggles to breathe.]
F-- father?
And those choking noises she's making as she struggles to breathe.]
F-- father?

But he's not letting go of her hand.
He will make some attempt at the staying calm instruction, but it's one of the hardest things he's ever done.]
Sh-she was at a hospital...on oxygen, before she was brought here. I-I...I don't think she can move by herself.

At least she got to see that boy again, Rin doesn't understand why her Father said he was dead, but she's so glad he wasn't. His hand is warm-- even more reassuring than his letters.
If only she could find the air to speak properly.
All she can do is nod, though, as Len speaks.]

Oxygen. She was having some obvious trouble breathing to back that up. Alright, then, first target was her throat and lungs. He took out his bible, keeping a hand free to hover over Rin's chest.]
Kyrie, rex genitor ingenite, vera essentia, eleison.
[Halfway through the first sentence his hand began to emanate a soft light, which also slowly worked its way around Rin.]
Kyrie, luminis fons rerumque conditor, eleison.
Kyrie, qui nos tuæ imaginis signasti specie, eleison.
Changed some wording
While he had been expecting something like this, it was still quite impressive. But that didn't sate his worry at all, and though they had lessened, his tears were still streaming down his cheeks.
All he can do now is watch, wait, and hope.]

Christe, lux oriens per quem sunt omnia, eleison.
[The light shines brighter, yet not bright enough to be painful to look upon. In fact, for those in contact with it, it's actually quite comforting and warm.]
Christe, qui perfecta es sapientia, eleison.

Then the glowing started.
Her eyes widen-- darting between the boy and the Priest as if seeking an explanation for this clearly impossible thing.
Strange, though, she feels very relaxed suddenly.]

Kyrie, utriqusque vapor in quo cuncta, eleison.
[The light grows even brighter.]
Kyrie, expurgator scelerum et largitor gratitæ quæsumus propter nostrasoffensas noli nos relinquere, O consolator dolentis animæ, eleison.
Amen.
[Gakupo snaps the bible shut and closes his hand, the light disappearing with both actions, seeming to recede into Rin.]
...How do you feel?
no subject
A lot better! How in the world did you do that? It looked like... like magic or something! Otherwise...
[Rin tries to move, just in case. and yes, she can barely even wiggle her leg]
My legs...

At least he's finally stopped crying.]
Is it the illness, still? What is it??
no subject
It's a neurological disease, I think the doctors said. I think they gave it the name of some American sports player, though I can't seem to remember what it is.
My nerve cells are dying... It can't really control my muscles. First my legs, and now my--
[wait. she can now. somehow. Rin pauses, then turns to Gakupo, curious]
I'm breathing on my own again. How in the world?
no subject
What you're describing, though...I don't think I could heal it entirely. But I could help a bit, to make it more comfortable and so you might be able to walk a little by yourself. Would you like me to try?
no subject
[she's more than slightly awed, and also starting to become confused, but Rin's not so distracted she misses the question]
Why would I say 'no'? Please, of course!
no subject
Alright, then. Just stay as you are.
no subject
Of course.

And this time, there won't be any fences or senseless wars in the way.
He looks up at Gakupo a moment, however, just before the priest can start again.]
You don't know what this means to us, really.
no subject
[He really didn't know what it meant, but that didn't really matter much. All he needed to know was that this Rin was going to be alright.
With that in mind, he hovered his hand over Rin's legs this time, and began the prayer once again.]

a miracle really has happened, hasn't it? the boy is alive, here, and she... she's better?
carefully, she sits up and gingerly puts both feet on the ground. then, for the first time in months, she stands.]

Rin's speechless]

[And then it was quite abruptly Rin's turn for a hug, except she got picked right up and spun around once as well. This is the happiest day in his entire life.] You're okay!!!

I am-- I am and you are here! You are alive!

I-- I thank you so much, Sir! You are amazing! None of the doctors could do anything... I had been expecting...
[she trails off with a little wince, then seems to shake herself out of it, glancing back over at Len]

You don't have to worry about that now. Not any of it. [Back to hand-holding, okay?
