It is not in — the nature — of the world to allow its inhabitants that luxury. If you're going to end it, end it.

Hunting prey and wiping a slate are two very different things. I don't see why loose ends to a story can't be tied up before it's put to rest.

Isn't there a point where maybe — just maybe — you have to give up and say "this is just how I am"...?

Absolutely not.

There is always, always a way to make things better. If one path doesn't work out, there's always another. Sometimes you have to make your own. You can learn from the paths you've already taken, even have a bit of a rest, but you shouldn't let them stop you from moving forward altogether.
