[a shrug] Well now, it ain't as simple as all that. Not about to regret growin' an' learnin'...but that ain't t'say I don't regret what else came from me fuckin' up. I got off lucky, compared to how things coulda been, but still...

When y'get down to it, anyhow, to live is to sorrow, at least when yer human. Findin' happiness takes a lotta things, an' I think it's luck for the most part. Keepin' happiness takes more of the good stuff: smarts, strength, an' all that.

Some days, I'm happy. Some days I'm not. But I'm always movin'. I think that's what happiness is, fer me an' a lotta humanshapes. Everythin' moves, everythin' changes...without that, happiness would die out. It'd suffocate.

Because happiness needs to breathe just like a man, see? An' breathin' is changin'. Everything moves through change; it's like an Earth fish through water. Without water, fishie can't move. Can't swim, can't eat, can't live. Without change, humans can't be happy. Can't even really be alive, in my seein'.
